What is a memory-capsule?

A memory-capsule in Memory-Capsule is a sealed collection of photos, videos, and files that you lock until a future date you choose. On that date, you and everyone you invited will be notified and the capsule opens — revealing everything you stored inside.

How long can I set the unlock date for?

Any date in the future — there's no upper limit. Whether that's tomorrow or decades from now, your capsule stays sealed until the exact moment you chose.

Can I open a capsule early?

No. Once a capsule is sealed, it cannot be opened before the unlock date — that's the whole point! However, you can delete a capsule at any time if you change your mind.

Who can see my capsule?

Only you (the creator) and the recipients you explicitly invite can see a capsule's contents. We do not access your capsule content, and it is not shared with any third parties.

What happens when a capsule unlocks?

When the unlock date arrives, you and all recipients receive a push notification. The capsule status changes to "Unlocked" and everyone can view the contents. The capsule will then auto-delete 7 days later (Free / Trial) or 14 days later (Premium).

What is the free trial?

New users get a 14-day free trial with full access to create capsules, add media, and invite recipients. After the trial ends, free accounts switch to view-only mode — you can still see any previously shared capsules, but cannot create new ones. Upgrading to Premium restores full access.

What's the difference between the Premium plans?

Both Premium plans (1 GB and 5 GB) offer unlimited active capsules, unlimited recipients per capsule, and a 14-day auto-delete window after unlock. The only difference is the amount of cloud storage available for your media — 1 GB or 5 GB.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open iOS Settings → tap your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → Memory-Capsule → Cancel Subscription. Canceling stops future charges. You keep Premium access until the current billing period ends, then your account reverts to free view-only mode.

I didn't receive a verification email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, try signing in and requesting a new verification email. If you're still having trouble, email us at [email protected].

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account inside the App. This will permanently remove your account, all your capsules, and any media you have stored. Alternatively, email us at [email protected] with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and we will process it within 30 days.

What file types can I add to a capsule?

You can add photos (JPEG, PNG, HEIC), videos (MOV, MP4), and most common document formats (PDF, text files, and more) from your iOS photo library or Files app.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is stored on Google Firebase's infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Only you and your invited recipients can access a capsule's contents. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
